RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers™ Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment

RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers™ recognises the importance of transformation in South African society.

RAM recently requested Independent Auditors, Grant Thornton, to prepare RAM's annual Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Report.

RAM is pleased to advise that, as at 2 March 2009, RAM, we have an  improved BBBEE score.

RAM's Contribution Level can be summarised as follows -

In addition RAM is a 'Value-Adding Supplier' which means an entity registered as a vendor, whose Net Profit Before Tax summed with its total labour costs exceeds 25% of the value of its total revenue. Accordingly, in terms of the Codes, when calculating 'Measured Spend', our clients are entitled to multiply their Total Annual Spend by 1.25.

As part of the reconstruction and development of post apartheid RSA, a clear response to introducing HDI's and Designated Groups into the mainstream of business opportunities that exist in the business sector is required.

RAM has spent a substantial amount of time and money studying and implementing certain policies and procedures relating to the Codes of Good Practise on Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment in terms of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act, 2003 (Act No. 53 of 2003).

The Codes were gazetted by the Department of Trade and Industry on Friday 9 February 2007 and the BEE Contribution levels in terms of the final Codes provide as follows -
