On collection, the driver signs the waybill.
On handover, a unique waybill number is assigned to the parcel.
These details are logged into the track and trace system via a handheld palm pilot.
At the hub, these details are transferred to a thermal label which is attached to the parcel.
Scanning the parcel - when it arrives or leaves - allows our control room staff to track it.
Smaller parcels are sealed in unique, tamper-proof envelopes.
These envelopes - along with larger parcels - are placed in sealed, secure containers.
Container is logged with the airline and a pre-alert notification is sent to the receiving branch.
The receiving branch collects the parcel from the airport and logs it into the hub.
All container seals are checked for tampering.
Individual parcels are scanned out of the hub prior to delivery.
On delivery, the parcel is scanned to confirm that it has been received by the addressee.

A RAM good bash

On Saturday, 24 November 600 RAM employees and their partners arrived at the St Georges Hotel just outside Pretoria for the 2007 RAM Isando, Pretoria, Midrand and Johannesburg Year-end bash. The formalities included speeches by Joint Managing Directors David and Graeme Lazarus highlighting the company's successes in 2007. They also expressed thanks to all employees for their commitment, dedication and contribution to the company's success. Ten Year Service Awards were presented to Carol Ennion, Cecil Carelse, Nasiem Lenders, Winston Mohammed and Aldrich (Muffy) Kelly. Once the formalities had concluded, the evening erupted into a party to top all parties. More than 1 200 guests revelled in an evening of fine food, fun, laughter, sublime entertainment and much booty shaking. The highlight of the evening was the brilliant performance by South Africa's best loved Kwaito artist Mandoza, who got the whole of RAM jamming to his chart-topping tracks. It was a certainly a night to remember. Thank you to all employees for a very successful year at RAM Hand-to-Hand CouriersTM. |
