DELIVERY PROCESS

photo

On collection, the driver signs the waybill.

photo

On handover, a unique waybill number is assigned to the parcel.

photo

These details are logged into the track and trace system via a handheld palm pilot.

photo

At the hub, these details are transferred to a thermal label which is attached to the parcel.

photo

Scanning the parcel - when it arrives or leaves - allows our control room staff to track it.

photo

Smaller parcels are sealed in unique, tamper-proof envelopes.

photo

These envelopes - along with larger parcels - are placed in sealed, secure containers.

photo

Container is logged with the airline and a pre-alert notification is sent to the receiving branch.

photo

The receiving branch collects the parcel from the airport and logs it into the hub.

photo

All container seals are checked for tampering.

photo

Individual parcels are scanned out of the hub prior to delivery.

photo

On delivery, the parcel is scanned to confirm that it has been received by the addressee.

Innocent foils attempted robbery
Vigilant RAM Pretoria driver Innocent Ncube acts on his suspicions and helps to arrest robber.

On 22 June 2006, Innocent was delivering a shipment of five parcels to a jewellery shop at the Sunnypark Mall. While walking through the mall to the shop, he realised that he was being followed. On leaving the shops Innocent noticed the person following him had entered the shop with RAM bags and flyers. It appeared that the man was attempting to retrieve the delivered items.

Innocent acted at once and ran back into the shop to apprehend the suspect. The SAPS were called and the man in question was arrested. Innocent has since been commended for his dedication and commitment to his work, and received a reward from Management at the RAM Workshop held in July.
