On collection, the driver signs the waybill.
On handover, a unique waybill number is assigned to the parcel.
These details are logged into the track and trace system via a handheld palm pilot.
At the hub, these details are transferred to a thermal label which is attached to the parcel.
Scanning the parcel - when it arrives or leaves - allows our control room staff to track it.
Smaller parcels are sealed in unique, tamper-proof envelopes.
These envelopes - along with larger parcels - are placed in sealed, secure containers.
Container is logged with the airline and a pre-alert notification is sent to the receiving branch.
The receiving branch collects the parcel from the airport and logs it into the hub.
All container seals are checked for tampering.
Individual parcels are scanned out of the hub prior to delivery.
On delivery, the parcel is scanned to confirm that it has been received by the addressee.

It was a 'RAM… MAN UNITED' Day

When Manchester United announced they were coming to town, the RAM Management team grabbed the opportunity to couple the visit to South Africa with a team building programme for all employees.
On a chilly Saturday in July, RAM employees were bussed from Isando to a conference facility in Pretoria. All employees were issued with a RAM T-shirt and the mandatory soccer accessory – a vuvuzela. David Lazarus addressed the staff and then welcomed guest speaker, South African Soccer legend Neil Tovey. Lunch was served before the busses left for Loftus and an afternoon of soccer bliss – with a live match between international soccer greats Manchester United and local dream team Kaizer Chiefs. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and the RAM contingent had a ball. Chiefs' win over Manchester United provided the perfect end to a special day out. |
