On collection, the driver signs the waybill.
On handover, a unique waybill number is assigned to the parcel.
These details are logged into the track and trace system via a handheld palm pilot.
At the hub, these details are transferred to a thermal label which is attached to the parcel.
Scanning the parcel - when it arrives or leaves - allows our control room staff to track it.
Smaller parcels are sealed in unique, tamper-proof envelopes.
These envelopes - along with larger parcels - are placed in sealed, secure containers.
Container is logged with the airline and a pre-alert notification is sent to the receiving branch.
The receiving branch collects the parcel from the airport and logs it into the hub.
All container seals are checked for tampering.
Individual parcels are scanned out of the hub prior to delivery.
On delivery, the parcel is scanned to confirm that it has been received by the addressee.

Witbank Branch Manager, Leoni du Preez, chats about the new hub After setting up our Nelspruit hub, Leoni dabbled in the property market, but the lure of life in the courier industry led her back into the fold in October, as the newly appointed Witbank Branch Manager. Although still based in Nelspruit, Leoni manages the hub with the help of a very capable and hands-on Operations Manager, Alfred Motaung. Leoni is currently working on a strategy to take the Witbank courier market by storm. “We have not even touched the potential market in Witbank. As soon as the 25 staff are settled in, I will put our sales plan into action and make sure this hub grows to its full potential,” she says. As Leoni’s experience in the courier industry has taught her, it is all about sticking to the basics. “Get the parcel from point A to B within the specified time, and ensure that the client is provided with the necessary proof of delivery,” she explains. Leoni believes that mutual respect between management and employees is vital, understanding that employees need to be acknowledged for a job well done. “What is very uplifting in the RAM Group is the fact that every employee understands that there are real opportunities for growth if they perform,” she explains. |
